Our Eco-Responsible Commitment and Carbon Footprint

Committed to reducing our environmental impact, we have implemented a wide range of practical initiatives to lower our water and energy consumption, reduce and sort waste, and help our guests experience a more sustainable way of discovering our region.

To ensure continuous improvement, our environmental approach is independently assessed and certified through several recognised schemes, including the Green Key eco-label and the Esprit Parc National certification. We also update our Environmental Label every year and completed a full carbon footprint assessment in 2022 using the official ADEME methodology.

Since 2019, the hotel has proudly been awarded the Green Key label, recognising our long-term commitment to sustainable management and environmental responsibility. We are also certified under the Esprit Parc National brand of Port-Cros National Park, reflecting our partnership with an organisation dedicated to preserving the exceptional natural heritage of our region. These certifications are renewed annually based on detailed reporting of our environmental performance, including energy and water consumption, purchasing practices and operational management, and are regularly verified through on-site audits.

In addition, we update our Environmental Label every year. Often described as the hotel industry's equivalent of a nutrition rating, it provides guests with a clear assessment of our environmental performance. We are proud to have once again achieved the highest A rating, reflecting the effectiveness of our ongoing efforts. This independent audit evaluates our water and energy consumption, equipment and materials, use of environmentally certified products, and all purchasing activities. The Environmental Label is an official French initiative supported by the Ministry for Ecological Transition as part of the Grenelle Environment programme.

In 2022, we carried out a comprehensive carbon footprint assessment using the official ADEME Carbon Assessment Methodology, covering all three emission scopes.

Excluding guest travel, the hotel's carbon footprint amounts to 30 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent, representing less than 5 kg of CO₂ equivalent per guest night. However, once guest transportation is included, our total carbon footprint rises to 160 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent.

This detailed assessment enables us to build a long-term low-carbon strategy in line with the objectives of the Paris Agreement. While we will continue improving the hotel's day-to-day operations, our greatest challenge now lies in reducing the impact of guest travel. We therefore aim to raise awareness and support our guests in choosing lower-carbon travel options, such as travelling shorter distances, taking the train or sharing journeys. We also work with local stakeholders to encourage the development of sustainable transport solutions and improve low-carbon mobility throughout our region.

Some of the practical initiatives behind these results include:

• Reducing water and energy consumption: low-flow taps and showerheads, dual-flush toilets, solar panels for hot water production, renewable electricity supply and solar-powered outdoor lighting.
• Reducing and sorting waste: recycling facilities, food waste reduction measures, bulk purchasing, composting, chickens for organic waste, cigarette butt recycling, elimination of single-use plastics and a complimentary filtered water station.
• Serving a sustainable breakfast: featuring local, organic and homemade products, alongside our zero-waste picnic prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients.
• Promoting low-carbon mobility: bicycle rental, electric vehicle charging station, local bus information and complimentary bike hire for guests arriving by train.
• Protecting biodiversity: using eco-certified cleaning products, eco-designed bed linen and organically produced food wherever possible.
• Raising awareness of sustainable tourism: by supporting local environmental organisations and encouraging responsible travel throughout our destination.
